Asus N53SV-XV1 I7 Laptop
| Customer Reviews: |
This high specification laptop from Asus is all about entertainment. In comparison with other laptops, even of a similar price, the audio experience is incredible. The sound output is very high quality with a system for integrated bass. The graphics included with this laptop is the Nvidia GeForce GT 540M, which is certainly powerful enough, and results in a 15.6-inch Full 1080p HD LED display. Also available are both HDMI and VGA outputs, to allow connection to external display devices such as televisions, monitors and projectors.
Asusn53SV-XV1 is great for heavy multitasking. RAM at 4 GB should be enough for most, but this is upgradable to a whopping 16 GB. The Sandy bridge i7 processor from Intel is top of the range. It is a very powerful and efficient processor, and should be able to handle even some of the heaviest use.

There are only a few minor reported issues with this laptop are that the battery life could be slightly longer for the price, and that the keyboard comes without a backlight, and with a hard to get used to design.
Acer Aspire 1830T I7 Laptop
| Customer Reviews: |
The Acer 1830T Aspire TimelineX was released in September 2010. It is considered an ultraportable laptop due to its 11.6-inch frame, and its very light weight of only 3.09 pounds. Despite its small size, and portability, the laptop still manages to pack a punch. It contains a 1.4-GHz Intel Core i7 680UM processor, which is one of Intel’s ‘Consumer Ultra Low Voltage’ processors. Memory-wise, the laptop comes with 4 GB of DDR3 memory as standard, and a 500 GB hard drive – easily enough for multitasking and storage of a fair quantity of media.
This laptop is rated highly by professionals as a result of providing such power in such a small case, and has a very competitive battery life of 6 hours. Unfortunately the laptop is let down slightly by its small touchpad and poorly performing webcam. It is a shame to restrict the use of such powerful hardware by including a substandard touchpad.

All in all the Acer 1830T i7 laptop is a very strong performer as a small, yet powerful laptop.

The Core i7 name was introduced in late 2008. In 2009, new Core i7 models were introduced in both desktops and laptops. Clarksfield quad-core mobile was added in 2009 and Arrandale for duo-core in January 2010. In March 2010, the first six-core processor in the Core lineup was launched and in January 2011, Intel released the second generation of Core i7 processors. Both processors are rated as 5 stars in the Intel processor.
Unfortunately, all hardware has its downside. Core i7 laptop needs power similar to a desktop, which means that you need to always sit near the power outlet. Besides draining the battery quicker, it also needs to be in front of the fan or better yet in a cool place with A/C to prevent overheating. The end result of this is that the Core i7 battery will become drained sooner. The computer needs an extra fan in order to prevent the computer from becoming overheating. You will find that most core i7 laptops will come with a six to nine cell batteries.
Also, Core i7 laptop tends to be the most expensive among the others. It may really cost you more to buy a Core i7 notebook, but since you will be getting a significant performance boost than others, it’s worth it!
If you are just looking for a competent system for homework, music/video and downloads, a notebook is good enough for you as long as it has i7, but if you are into complex spreadsheets , streaming an HD movie or working with a 3D CAD model, a full-size notebook with a Core i7 processor is the best for you. So what are you waiting for? You can consider having your i7 laptop now!
